Artist's statement: I have been passionate about drawing and painting all my life. Artist's statement: My landscapes are grounded in memories of the river red gums and mallee soil of my childhood. They portray a living and forever changing environment which is built up of new life and ancient layers of decayed plant and animal matter. Faces, also, are forever changing, a reflection of genetic make-up and a lifetime of experience. In both landscapes and portraits, working in layers, I struggle to portray the present and allow for the element of change.

Each precious feather, leaf or pebble is shaped by time, water, wind and sun. They are affected by the changing seasons. Fragments of a larger picture, each one is reliant on all of the others to continue the circle of life. We are all knitted into this circle.
